This is the true joy in life -- knowing that your being used for a purpose just as being an entity, being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of anxiety and grievances - and complaining that the world will not dedicate its time to making you happy. My philosophy on life embraces a faith in the God and Goddess that i believe influences every part of my being, like multi-color threads woven in a vast tapestry, independent but part of the very weave that makes the tapestry beautiful and gives it form. Without the beautiful single threads the tapestry could never be. Much like how everything in this world needs to be, it all has its own colors. You know, Wisdom is not at the top of the graduate school mountain, but there in the sand pile at nursery school. These are the things i learned: Share everything. Play fair. Dont hit people. Put things back where you found them. Clean up your own mess. Dont take things that arent yours. Say your sorry when you hurt somebody. Wash your hands before you eat. Flush. Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you. Live a balanced life. Learn some, and think some, draw and pain and sing and dance and play and work every day some. Take a nap every afternoon. When you go out into the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands and stick together. Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the plastic cup. The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.
Now wouldnt it be a better world if we all - the WHOLE world - had cookies and milk every day and laid down with our blankies for a nap in the afternoon? Or if all Governments had a basic policy to always put things back where they found them and cleaned up their own mess. And it is still true, not matter how old you are, when you go out into the world, its better to hold hands and stick together.
